I love and value life and have always wanted to be a midwife!
My fascination for the deeper motivations of people and because my own body desperately needed realignment led me in 1972 to yoga. I am now thrilled to be working with this delightful combination of pregnancy AND yoga.
I have been practising and teaching yoga for over 35 years and have studied extensively in the UK (Iyenger Yoga with Ruth White and the British Wheel of Yoga,) In America and Europe with John Friend (founder of Anusara Yoga), hatha yoga, philosophy and meditation with Siddha Yoga in India and have attended many self development workshop trainings. I am now an Anusara inspired teacher (see www.anusara.com).
Other relevant qualifications include Rolfing (London School of Sports Massage) and Reiki plus a diploma in Physiology, Anatomy and Massage. In the 1990s I took the yogic principals of the body/mind/spirit connection into the NHS mental health sector, with management trainings.
In 1998 I underwent specialist training in London to teach yoga to pregnant women. I felt it necessary to provide ‘tailored’ classes for my students who were expecting and this gave rise to Yogababes.
Local Midwives, St Peter’s Hospital, Reflexologists, Hypnotherapists, Yoga Teachers and the National Childbirth Trust, regularly refer people to Yogababes, recognising the advantages that this training has to offer.
Hundreds of women have had natural, empowered labours through Yogababes training.
